An improved rubber compound with a high silica content combined with an optimal groove and siping arrangement enhances mechanical and chemical grip in all situations.

The shoulder compound features a higher percentage of silica for better contact feel in corners, especially when wet.

The central tread is made from a silica and carbon black mix to improve high-speed stability, heat dispersion, and the balance between abrasion resistance and grip.

All structures of the ROADTEC™ Scooter feature adaptive behaviour and lightweight design, improving handling and ride comfort. Thanks to innovative rounded profiles, the contact patch is short and wide, which not only reduces consumption but also increases wear regularity, providing progressive behaviour and a sense of safety in corners.

The increase in the contact area distributes the vehicle's weight and strong acceleration forces over a larger area, reducing strain on the rubber and overheating.

Safety on wet and low-grip surfaces

The tread design of the ROADTEC™ Scooter is inspired by the award-winning ROADTEC™ 01 model, which now features sipes for optimal efficiency on scooters.

This tread design has been developed to enhance mechanical traction, with a clearly perceptible advantage during acceleration and braking.

The shape and arrangement significantly contribute to maximising water evacuation and mechanical grip.

The contact area includes many grooves and rubber in contact with the road simultaneously, improving mechanical grip, water evacuation, and the sensation of safety; it also ensures more rubber in contact with the ground, especially at mid-angle, allowing for better grip from the start of the lean.

The front tyre has numerous transverse grooves that grip the asphalt like individual elements and increase the amount of water drained, while the short sipes oriented in the opposite direction improve stability and control during braking. The grooves also help enhance grip on low-grip surfaces and reduce warm-up time.

The rear tyre features wide and long sipes facing the opposite direction, combining different effects: during acceleration, the grooves improve traction, especially on low-grip surfaces, and during braking, the sipes prevent lateral movement and increase stability.
