Road agility

The profiles of the KAROO™ Street are directly derived from those of the TOURANCE™ NEXT, with the specific aim of improving road handling.
It features a multi-radius profile with a wider and longer contour to increase the contact patch and therefore enhance grip and stability even during lean angles.
The shape height has been significantly increased to improve shock absorption and comfort.
The front tyre profile follows the same pattern and has a similar geometry to that of the rear tyre to ensure coordinated behaviour overall.

Grip on dry and wet surfaces

The KAROO™ Street is characterised by a high-silica compound with a balanced proportion of carbon black and resins to provide excellent grip on the road, in both dry and wet conditions.
A significant percentage of carbon black improves the resistance of the tread blocks to tearing and premature wear when used on the road.
The right choice of polymer type, filler materials and resins combined with our exclusive patented mixing process is key to enhancing the cohesion of the different ingredients at the molecular level. This results in a polymer matrix with an unmatched level of homogeneity, thereby maximising its properties and characteristics, while ensuring solid performance over time.

Traction in all conditions

The tread design of the KAROO™ Street is derived from the layout of the KAROO™ 3 and its uniquely shaped lugs, aimed specifically at delivering excellent road performance, consistent wear, and a high level of stability alongside genuine off-road capabilities.
Extra-wide central lugs create a large and solid contact area, ensuring stability at high speeds on the road.
When riding off-road, the V-shaped arrangement of the lugs and their numerous active edges ensure grip during acceleration, traction, and braking. On the road, the lug arrangement is capable of reducing vibrations related to ground contact and helps maximise uniform wear as well as longevity.
Longitudinal grooves between the central blocks ensure water evacuation and the tyre’s self-cleaning ability.
Wide transverse grooves allow the blocks to dig into the earth, thus ensuring off-road traction, especially on compacted soil and clay.
The variable shape of the blocks combined with their V-shaped arrangement provides a large number of active edges, enhancing off-road traction.
Large lateral blocks enable a broad contact area during lean angles, offering grip in corners and stability at high speeds.

Integration with electronic rider aids

The KAROO™ Street integrates perfectly with electronic rider aids such as ABS and traction control.
The combination of the extra-wide blocks and their V-shaped arrangement with the high rigidity of the tyre structure allows for a high level of stability, traction, and smooth handling. This provides accurate feedback to the ABS, traction control, and other electronic aids as there are no interferences from tread vibrations or deformations that can be found in other tyres.
